There is nothing there to be seen, yet we believe there is. That is what having faith is all about. This is the approach God used to make the universe, the Earth, you, everything…
if you have faith He did of course. This is the approach that scientists, inventors and explorers use when they set out on, what could be, a new breakthrough. Faith precedes any discovery. Faith is the seed of thought that determines what major actions or choices we may or may not make.

God wants us to live by faith. In fact, He wants us to experience faith so badly that he has set up life in such a way that we cannot even see, obey, or please God without having it. Our faith in Him can stem from the promise of living eternally in heaven. It could start from our desire to know the peace of God and live a spiritual life. Or maybe one, single, powerful life experience sparked a faith so strong that you cannot deny God’s existence. Whatever it is that got your faith off the ground and into heaven with God, your challenge is to keep that faith airborne.

A faith-following life in this world will always be a challenge because with faith, no matter how hard you try, you just never can be totally sure that anything will ever appear; and when it does you won’t need faith anymore. Enjoy it while you can!

  1. Wow Joe, I was totally expecting a comic, and when I saw the blank page I was like, “There is something wrong with my computer!”. But I get it, great way to portray the idea of faith. I can really relate to this scripture. It was faith that lead to my conversion to becoming a Christian. I was incarcerated at the time and studying the bible. While incarcerated God’s word began to speak to me in so many ways. But I believe the most pivotal point in studying the Word was from a vision and dream that I had during a fast. In this vision I am in an apartment building looking outside a huge window pane. As I looked out of this window, in front of me there was a huge mountain and above that mountain there was a massive storm brewing. I recall at one moment while I was looking at the sky above this mountain, a fire ball came falling down and there was a very distinct whistling sound that was so vivid to me. Next thing I realize one by one fire came from the sky. I began to have overwhelming fear that this fire would soon hit me. At the time my girlfriend Lin who later became my wife was in this vision with me. I remember grabbing her hand and running from room to room looking for cover from these fire balls coming from the sky. We then found ourselves scared and hiding in closet waiting for the fire to stop. That distinct sound was getting louder and louder and then finally the last one fell. Everything around was laid bare by the fire but we survived. After the last fire ball came down hail from the sky so much hail and snow, it covered everything. I can vividly remember that the snow was high that I was latterly wiping it away from my wife’s face and making sure she was okay. I then awoke with the overwhelming feeling that someone had literally poured water on my entire body. Now you must understand that I was asleep in my bunk in the jail and none else was around when I woke up. I remember just sitting there in awe and crying of what God had presented to me. It was my faith that a God that I cannot see presented to me a choice, follow me or die in the fire, I just knew it was God. That it is faith! It was not until later that I found out in scripture what was presented to me in this vision. The scriptures are 1Corinthians 3:10-15 and 2 Peter 3:8-10.

  2. See!? That’s exactly what the comic strip is a picture of. Our faith is worth a million words. Thanks for sharing your vision.
